What does Pilot3D do?

Pilot3D specializes in creating and editing geometry. It can do some 3D rendering of the geometry (using OpenGL), but its main use is to easily create and manipulate geometry. Some programs are better at rendering and animation, but are not so good at creating the shapes. You can use Pilot3D to easily create geometry that can be sent to your animation or rendering program.

To understand Pilot3D, you have to know how the program works and what kinds of geometry it can create and edit. The basic building blocks of geometry are called entities.

Pilot3D uses the following entities:

  1. points
  2. lines
  3. polylines
  4. curves
  5. combo curves
  6. surfaces.

The tutorials teach you how to create (add), edit, combine, and connect these basic shapes to create complex 3D models.
